About Us

National Institute of Jewellery Technology is an undertaking under the ASIDE scheme of the Government of India, executed under the aegis of U.P. Government. It is the only Institute of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh and has been conceived with a view to training functionaries at all levels to contribute to the enhancement of the Gems and Jewellery Industry by inducting trained manpower into it.

The Gems and Jewellery Industry has seen exponential growth in the last few years and is amongst the highest foreign exchange earners for the country. This makes it an ideal organization to be a part of, both for personal and patrioticreasons.

At NIJT-Meerut all courses are designed to cater for the ambitious, creative and a determined career seeker who can either join a family business, be an entrepreneur, or do a job in any of the multifarious Gems and Jewellery outlets both at corporate and lower levels. Our fully integrated, vocationally oriented programs are geared for producing jewellery professionals with precisely the skills the industry seeks.

THE OBJECTIVES OF NIJT-MEERUT ARE:

To impart state-of-the-art education in Jewellery Design, Gemology and Jewellery Manufacturing so as to create industry professionals at par with international standard
To understand and to bring awareness in the field of Jewellery Designing, Gemology and Jewellery Manufacturing to people not familiar with this hugely potential area, so that you can “Be all you can be”.
To provide trained manpower to the industry which will subsequently boost exports, thereby earning foreign exchange for the country and create a lucrative market for Indian Jewellery products, abroad.
To achieve all of the above objectives NIJT-Meerut has installed world class, latest technology, manufacturing, gemology and designing machines/equipment/ software which no other institute can claim to have and hence will seamlessly integrate learning with industry requirements. Learning on the machines will give the student a comprehensive overview of the jewellery trade and the student will find himself/herself fully equippedto face any challenge be it in the field of Manufacturing, Gemology or Designing that they will have to face in any future endeavour.
